"Morning Glory" is the most successful piece from the first wave of my Feminine Spirit series, and is my husband's favorite piece in the collection. I mention this second part because Morning Glory tends to appeal to men far more than most of my work. Only "Moment of Silence" and "Lady of the Glade" get the attention of men near as much.
"Morning Glory" is a key member of my largest series of work and is rich in the autumn colors that were the keynote of the collection during that period. Her colors and body position best suit her to be paired with "Earthen Blanket", "Gypsy" or any of the ladies in the collection. However, it's "Rising Fall" that has always been my favorite match for her.
"Morning Glory" lends itself to any room rich with wood furniture or other sources earth tones. For my own home, she and Rising Fall greet us at the door.
The original piece was done using an acrylic ink paint on watercolor paper. The technique is very similar to watercolor but tends to keep more vibrant hews and dries permanently to the paper.
